Forehead / Brow Lift

What is a forehead lift?

A forehead lift, often considered to be synonymous with a brow lift, is a surgical procedure intended to rejuvenate the face by replenishing energy in the forehead. The lift gives the forehead a youthful and rested appearance.

What does a forehead lift cost?

The cost of forehead lift surgery varies greatly depending on the physician and the specific situation of the patient. Generally speaking, a forehead lift costs between $3500 and $5,000. For a more personal estimate, please contact us.

Who is this for?

The process of aging leaves many people with excessively droopy forehead or eyebrow skin that can make them look older than they are, or that can even cause the upper eyelids to interfere with fields of vision. A common side effect of aging is also the development of a deep vertical wrinkle between the eyebrows, usually caused by years of expression. A forehead lift can correct and erase these effects.

About the forehead lift procedure

Forehead lift is performed on an outpatient basis, usually under general anesthesia. Multiple small incisions are made within the hairline, where they will be easily hidden when in scar form. The underlying muscles that control wrinkles are weakened, excess skin is removed, and the remaining skin lifted into its new position.

What is involved in the forehead lift recovery period?

Patients leave the surgery wearing protective head dressings, and usually have them removed a day or two after surgery. Standard pain medication can help alleviate any initial discomfort, and most swelling and bruising should fade within about 7-10 days of the surgery. Sutures are also generally removed right around this time, about a week and a half after surgery, which is also about when most patients return to work. More strenuous activity should be postponed for several weeks after surgery.

What are the risks?

In extremely rare cases, reactions to the anesthesia or infection may occur. Other risks include temporary numbness, loss of hair around the incision, and scarring.
